Jaggo is a vibrant pre-wedding ceremony that symbolizes joy, unity, and cultural pride. Traditionally held a night before the wedding, it brings together family and friends who carry beautifully decorated pots called gaggers with lit lamps, sing playful Punjabi boliyan, and dance to the energetic beats of the dhol as they move through the neighborhood inviting everyone to join the celebration. Originating in rural times when oil lamps were used to light homes, Jaggo represents prosperity, togetherness, and the sharing of happiness with the entire community.
